Overview

Mrs Pho House Bundoora stands out as an authentic Vietnamese dining spot nestled conveniently along Plenty Road. This restaurant captures the essence of traditional Vietnamese cuisine while catering to the diverse tastes of the Bundoora community. From locals seeking a hearty lunch to families craving a comforting dinner, this venue’s approachable setting and fast service make it a solid choice for casual dining.

The highlight here is undoubtedly their rich and spicy beef noodle soup, a dish that has garnered praise for its depth of flavor and satisfying spice level. The beef pho and other variants like grilled pork pho showcase the kitchen’s skill in balancing fragrant broths with fresh, quality ingredients without relying on MSG. Such care for authenticity is also evident in crowd favorites like the flavorful Vietnamese pork rolls and the refreshing vermicelli noodle salad served with crispy spring rolls.

Breakfast offerings such as the Vietnamese roll with egg omelette and the broken rice with egg provide nourishing starts to the day, reflecting the strong street-food heritage Vietnam is known for. Meanwhile, items like the sugarcane prawns wrapped in vermicelli sheets and the special spring rolls add layers of texture and variety that keep the menu interesting and engaging.

The ambiance is straightforward and welcoming—a true neighborhood gem rather than a polished fine-dining venue. It’s this authenticity and no-frills approach that appeals to customers who seek genuine flavors over elaborate presentation. Customers regularly commend the freshness of the ingredients and the friendly hospitality, though some note portion sizes could be more generous. The minimum card payment policy can be a minor inconvenience but does little to detract from an overall positive culinary experience.

Mrs Pho House is an excellent destination for those who appreciate Vietnamese cuisine grounded in tradition, served with consistency and care. Whether you’re after a spicy broth to warm a cold evening, a crisp banh mi roll for lunch, or a fresh salad brimming with herbs and vibrant textures, this Bundoora eatery offers a broad selection that resonates with both longtime Vietnamese food lovers and newcomers alike.

A cold evening along spicy beef noodle with beef shank is a treat. The spice hit is on another level. Chicken fried rice was amazing.(Must have) Had Banh Mi & Rice paper rolls with chicken which were great.

This is one of my favourite lunch places. I love the banh mi rolls and the noodle salads. My only criticism is that you need to spend a minimum of $20 if using eftpos or card, which means that I have to pay cash as generally lunch costs under $20 for one person. I have never dealt with a business before which requires a minimum spend of $20 to use card and it is very inconvenient as I don't generally have cash on hand. If this business changes its card policy, then I am happy to revise this review to 5 stars. Otherwise, the food is amazing and fresh and very tasty!

We have been here quite a few times during summer, as we love the freshness of Vietnamese food but really hadn’t visited in winter. So glad we popped in. We ordered the spicy beef soup, the beef salad, prawn spring rolls, a beef Banh and the dumplings. The spicy beef soup is outstanding; so tasty and filling. The beef salad bowl is fresh and delicious, something I would order again and again! Service is fast and the food is reasonably priced! Wanting a feed of Vietnamese goodness drop in and try this little gem!

The food as always was good however like everything else in life these days the portions had shrunk, and no prawns in the combination pancake. Paid for the combination Banh Xeó and rice vermicelli salad and prawn spring rolls to eat at home with my own rice paper and my own extra greens and herbs. Great feast but disappointed with quantity. Service as always was great, friendly, welcoming, and very obliging.

They have all the basic options, and there are a lot of side choices for Pho , including vegetarian options Pho (AUD 18) I chose beef for one bowl and grilled pork for the other. Both bowls had a decent portion, and the key thing is that the pork didn't have that typical pork smell. It was also very flavorful. The broth for the pork and beef were slightly different, and neither of them had MSG . While the taste may not be the best, I still found it really delicious . Vietnamese Coleslaw (AUD 17) This salad had fish sauce added, and it came with crispy shrimp chips, making it super tasty and appetizing. After eating it, I already wanted to go home and try making it myself . Although this place is not as famous as those in the city center, but is cheaper, and I think it's great to eat here without the need to go all the way into the city

Mrs Pho House is one of my favorite place for lunch. The beef Pho (beef rice noodle) , Banh Mi with crispy pork and vietnamese coffee never disappoint me. The beef Pho perhaps is the best I have eaten in Melbourne. The food and drinks there all give me authentic vietnamese taste. Tony is very professional in providing good service there. One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Melbourne! Must try
